A Simple Thanksgiving

We didn't go anywhere, we didn't have company, it was just our little family for a quiet Thanksgiving at home. Anthony took Thursday and Friday off but not all of our American friends had that luxury. The kids made "Thankful Turkeys" and turkey cupcakes in the morning.

I did go ahead and do the entire Thanksgiving spread. It seems that everybody has a different favorite that they "have" to have. But even with numerous substitutions and conversions everything seemed to come out well. Except Anthony's Pumpkin Cheesecake didn't set up quite as well.

After lunch, we played around with the camera outside. Not everyone cooperated but here are a few cute shots.
For the evening, we settled in and watched a holiday classic that spans Thanksgiving to Christmas, "Miracle on 34th Street".
Friday, we went to the mall and picked out a Christmas tree that will get us through this season, put the few ornaments we brought with us on it and set out our handful of Christmas decorations. Certainly not my usual extravaganza... Christmas will be low key as well.

We, too, had Thanksgiving (with everything) with just the three of us...Cody taking off Thursday and Friday...maybe next year we should plan better and all get together somewhere?!!?
