Walker Visit, March 14th - 24th

Anthony's parents were able to come and visit us for a little over a week during his mom's spring break. They were very fortunate to have beautiful weather for the entire week - prettier than we had seen in many months. They arrived on Saturday and we let them rest but after that they kept going...

Sunday, we spent the day at Versailles...

Monday, Anthony took a day off and showed them Paris, first on a river cruise and then a few highlights... (with a little break to sample that Parisian delicacy known as the crepe)

Tuesday thru Thursday, they got adventerous and traveled on their own to Zurich, Switzerland to see the Rhine Falls...

Triberg, Germany to purchase a cuckoo clock...

and back through Strasbourg, France just because Anthony had so strongly recommended it.

Friday, they toured the 18th arrondissement topped by its whipped confection of a church, Sacre Couer and found a few of the windmills...

...then Anthony, the kids and I met them in town for a wonderful evening in Luxembourg gardens...

Saturday, they rested at home with the kids and gave Anthony and I a much needed day out on our own but then that evening headed back in to see the Arc de Triomphe and the "city of lights"...

Sunday, we all traveled to Laon, where Anthony's dad had lived as a child. The town hosts a beautiful, light and airy cathedral (very different from the dark and moody ones we visit nearly everywhere else) and we ran into an antique car show where I found a dream of a car...the Morgan...check out the steps you have to climb to get to the old town...

Monday, they ran around to a couple of the music companies that his mom and sister use and then left on Tuesday, totally tuckered out.
